DCYF is a cabinet-level agency focused on the well-being of children. Our vision is to ensure that Washington state’s children and youth grow up safe and healthy—thriving physically, emotionally and academically, nurtured by family and community.
Child Care Resources works with families, childcare providers, community organizations and advocacy groups in order to improve the quality of early childhood care in our region. We support families in their search for child care, assist families experiencing homelessness with child care costs, coach and provide resources for child care professionals, and train and empower low-income and refugee women pursuing careers in early learning. Meadow Crest Early Learning Center is an inclusive, safe, nurturing, positive and collaborative community that prepares children and families for success in kindergarten and beyond by building foundational skills for lifelong learning. Preschool, Head Start, and Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program are available for children ages 3-5 and provide many free services to eligible children and their families.
