Three Stories of How Vision House Donors Shared Their Blessings
Because of the generous support of our donors, families experiencing homelessness received meals, safe housing, and professional care throughout 2025 at Vision House.
We want you to see firsthand the difference your generosity can make when families need it most. The life-changing stories in this post would not be possible without you.
You Gave Amy and Oliver a Place to Call Home
Because of you, Amy and her baby went from living in a car to thriving in a safe and caring community.
At just 19 years old, Amy was a single mom facing homelessness after she was evicted from her apartment. She did everything she could to keep them safe, even living in her car for a month before finally finding shelter.
But the shelter Amy and Oliver stayed at was in a part of town that felt unsafe, and Amy’s car was broken into twice. Feeling like she was out of options, she called Vision House.
Because of you, she found safety, support, and a loving community that cares about her deeply. You provided them with nights of safety and care at Vision House. When she heard she could stay, Amy broke down in tears.
Volunteers even decorated the unit just for her and Oliver. “This is so much nicer than I imagined,” she said. “Now Oliver can crawl and play on our own clean floors again.”
But what you gave Amy was so much more than a home. She also received counseling, life skills classes, and budgeting help. And most importantly, she received life-changing support from her new community of other moms.
Ensure a family has safe housing and the professional care they need.
Thank you for making sure that moms and kids like Amy and Oliver have a safe space and the care they need to heal!
You Gave Shayna and Children a Safe Home and a Fresh Start
Thanks to your support, Shayna gained the confidence and skills she needed to create a better life for her children.
Shayna and her two kids fled a violent home where substance abuse and fear ruled their daily lives. With no family to turn to, she felt completely alone . . . until she found Vision House.
We met Shayna with compassion and no judgment. Through counseling and skills classes, she began to heal from the trauma she had carried since childhood and learned how to build healthy relationships. She learned to budget, opened her first bank account, and improved her credit. These were all huge steps toward lasting stability and a better life for herself and her children.
Now, Shayna and her children are thriving and have moved into their own home!
$60 provides a night of safe housing and professional care for a family experiencing homelessness.
Thank you for giving Shayna the chance to start over. You are the reason that her family, and many others like them, have a brighter future.
You Helped Kelly Feed Her Growing Boys
Your generosity gave Kelly and her sons the nutritious meals and support they desperately needed.
Putting food on the table was a daily struggle, and recent cuts to food assistance programs made providing for her sons even harder. No matter what she did, there never seemed to be enough to make ends meet.
Because of your support, Kelly and her sons received regular, nutritious meals at Vision House. She no longer had to choose between paying bills and buying groceries. And for the first time in a long time, she felt a sense of relief knowing her boys would not go to bed hungry.
With the stability of consistent meals, Kelly was able to breathe, regroup, and begin planning for her family’s future. She connected with other moms in our program and found comfort knowing she wasn’t alone in her struggles.
Thank you for helping Kelly feed her family. Your generosity ensures that families like hers have the meals and support they need to thrive.
You Can Help Another Family Today
Right now, there’s another family facing homelessness, who is feeling just as hopeless as Amy, Shayna, and Kelly were. But you can change that!
Will you give a generous gift today to provide a family with safe housing and professional care?
You’ll be providing just what they need in a time of crisis. Families are facing overwhelming challenges every day, and without a safe place to turn, many have no choice but to sleep in their car—or worse, outside without shelter and support.
You can bless a family with safe, warm housing, a supportive community, and professional staff to care for their immediate and long-term needs.
Will you please send a gift today?
As you read the stories from Kelly, Shayna, and Amy, know this: you made them possible.
You are living out the call of Christ, and families are experiencing His provision through you. Thank you for sharing your blessings.
