Your invitation to the 2024 Vision House Luncheon
Vision House would like to invite you to our Annual Luncheon on May 21, 2024 at the Meydenbauer Center. We are delighted to welcome special guest Bob Goff, New York Times bestselling author. This FREE event will be full of laughs, insights, and encouragement. It will also be full of inspiration - last year’s luncheon raised over $700,000!
Learn how you can end family homelessness, one family at a time. Register here.
The mission of Vision House, for over 32 years, has been to uplift marginalized families who are experiencing homelessness.
Did you know?
- Over 25,000 people are homeless on a given night in Washington State.
- Between 2007 and 2022, King County’s homeless population increased by 69%.
- By age five, most homeless children have at least one major developmental delay with language skills, hand-eye coordination, emotional and/or behavioral development.
Our program has grown from serving a few single mothers and their kids to now serving over 700 families a year through our housing program and diversion services.
In King County, there are only a handful of other agencies that provide housing with support services to homeless families. Vision House is the only program that provides the opportunity for a longer stay and extensive, integrated “wrap-around” services needed for long-term success and self-sufficiency. We have a historical 90% success rate of families transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.
This is also what success looks like:
- 183 family members were served with temporary, transitional housing and services in 2022.
- 18 out of 23 families who left in 2022 moved to stable housing.
- 751 families served received housing stability services (referrals to permanent housing, support for legal, educational or employment needs, counseling and recovery referrals).
Families experiencing homelessness are facing a myriad of concerns including lack of affordable housing, employment, poverty, low wages, domestic violence, mental illness, substance abuse and broken relationships.
Your attendance at the May 21, 2024 Vision House luncheon is the power boost we all need to keep doing this important work. Please join us for stories, inspiration, and even a chance to meet our new Executive Director, Derek Sciba!
