Turning the Tide 2026
In October 2026, we gathered on two separate weekends and raised a total of $366,000 during Vision House's fall events, Turning the Tide on Family Homelessness. First in Renton at Fairwood Golf and Country Club, and later in the north end at Edmonds Waterfront Center, we gathered to hear about the realities of homelessness in both cities and their surrounding neighborhoods.
Every night, children in our area go to sleep in the back seat of a car. Others wake up at night shivering in a sleeping bag inside the tent that is their family's only home. But because of friends and neighbors like you, more children will have a roof over their head, and a warm bed to sleep in at night.
Bri Ortega, the family transitions team lead at Vision House Shoreline, spoke about the work her team does each day walking alongside local families experiencing homelessness. In Renton, Danielle Downs, Vision House's lead mental health counselor, shared the importance of providing trauma-informed care to children and parents who have experienced homelessness. Every year, about 90% of families move from Vision House to permanent housing. The holistic programs, comprehensive support, and consistent relationships with staff that make this possible wouldn't happen without your support.
