Updated, Enhanced Security Systems

We're excited to share updates about our enhanced security system at both centers. Our recent improvements include securing all external doors and internal classroom doors with a new key fob entry. We have a doorbell with a camera located at the front entrance for guests. Parents will have access to the front entrance and their child's specific classroom. This new system allows us to better control who enters various areas of our facilities, creating a safer environment for everyone. By implementing these measures, we're able to maintain a secure setting while ensuring convenient access for parents. Our primary goal is to foster a protected yet welcoming atmosphere for children, parents, and staff alike, giving our families peace of mind while we are caring for their kids.

A recent Program Review from Early Achievers, part of the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families, indicated Children’s Village has a strong commitment to the safety and development of the children in our care.

At Children’s Village, our teachers have a minimum of 30 hours of Child Care Basic training, and they receive additional training in:

  • First Aid and CPR
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Food Handling
  • Mandated Reporting
  • Safe Sleep
  • Emergency and Disaster preparedness
  • Trauma Informed Care Safety & Supervision
  • Positive Discipline Techniques

“We have been able to unite as a team and work together in creating a safe and warm environment for the children as well as for the families,” said Children’s Village Director, Angelica Garcia. “I hope that as a center we can continue to serve more families.”

Angie, a parent, said “As a parent, the knowledge that my child is loved and acknowledged by the entire staff is a great feeling. It’s amazing to know that he, as a person, is just as important as his education. The staff at the center love him as they help him grow and learn while reaching his developmental milestones. They encourage, engage, teach, and discipline him all while loving him. I know that I made the best decision in choosing Children’s Village for my child.”

Children’s Village places particular emphasis on the four pillars of cognitive, physical, emotional, and spiritual development. And the children’s time is balanced between structured learning and creative play.

One parent said, “Our boys love going to school [Children’s Village] and are always happy to see their teachers and director. They come home with pride in their work, new skills, new songs, and we see them engaged in a wide variety of activities.”

A staff member shared what makes them proud to work at Vision House’s Children’s Village: “I am most proud of creating a safe, inclusive space that encourages exploration and creativity. This is important to me because it fosters growth, encourages curiosity, and respects each child's unique journey.”

In the Early Achievers reports, 100% of Children’s Village families said they are “likely” or “very likely” to recommend our childcare facility to other families.

Julia, a parent, summed up what families can expect from Children’s Village: “It's more than just a daycare; I can walk out the door with peace of mind, knowing our children feel safe, valued, and loved while we're at work.”
